Discussion of March’s winning lures and patterns. Dale Hollow Lake, 49.5-52*, clear-colored water, Elev. 644.6-645.0’, Weather, 48* cloudy & mild am, mid-morning rain-heavy rain, 48* partly cloudy-sunny pm, with 5-15 mph winds, Boat #16; 1^st & 13^th, chrome/blue rattle traps & shaky head worms around grass, Boat #10, 2^nd & 4^th, crystal minnow jerk baits, crank baits, finesse worm & swimming grub, Boat #1; 3^rd, crank baits, big fish was caught on a shaky head worm. .

Announcements:

19 members and 2 guests attended the March meeting. Charles Mitchell, TN Federation Treasurer/Past President and Jim Wilkins, interested in joining our club. We had 29 people fish the Dale Hollow Lake Tournament, 7 guests attended.

Dale Hollow Lake Results: 1^st Paul Flatt; 16.55 lbs., 2^nd Ricky England; 10.39 lbs., 3^rd Darren Walker; 9.38 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Paul Flatt; 4.91 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 52 fish with a total weight of 100.14 lbs.

We are working with Laura Canada and the Cookeville Chamber of Commerce. We are discussing the possibility of their sponsorship of the 2009 Eastern Divisional State Tournament on Center Hill Lake. Charles Mitchell, Ricky England and Kessler Yoder have all met with Laura.

The club’s 1^st fund raiser Bass Tournament was held on the Caney Fork River, Good Friday, March 21^st, 2008, 7am-3pm out of Cotton’s Marina ramp. The results were as follows: 1^st Steve Cope & Dewayne Dotson; 5/5 6.88 lbs., 2^nd Bobby & Joseph Willeby; 5/5, 6.36 lbs., 3^rd Mathew Shepard & Josh Sanders; 4/4, 5.62 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Art & Mitch Robbins; 3.82 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 35 fish with a total weight of 50.44 lbs. We had 31 boats and 55 actual paid entries; $550.00 was raised to be used for club expenses. We would like to thank everyone who fished with us and everyone involved with Cotton’s Marina for their assistance before and after the tournament.

The club’s 2^nd fund raiser was a Co-ed Big Bass Tournament held on Center Hill Lake, Saturday, April 12^th, 2008, 7am-noon out of the Ragland Bottom ramp with a picnic social held in the pavilion after the weigh-in. The results were as follows: Women’s, 1^st Kristina Simmons; 2.79 lbs., 2^nd Kathleen Humphrey; 2.24 lbs., 3^rd Sharon Underwood; 1.58 lbs., & Men’s, 1^st Ken Daniels; 3.12 lbs., 2^nd Robert Underwood; 2.37 lbs., 3^rd Dewayne Dotson; 1.60 lbs. We had 5 boats and 7 actual paid entries; $70.00 was raised to be used for club expenses. We would like to thank everyone who fished with us and everyone involved for their assistance before and after the tournament.

The Free Fishing Day in Tennessee this year will be Saturday, June 7^th. Our club members will assist with several events in our local area. Casting competition packaged kits have been ordered. We will need about 3-4 volunteers for Fall Creek Falls & Cane Creek Parks each.

The 2008 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Pickwick Lake, Pickwick Landing State Park, September 25-27^th.

The 2008 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Chickamauga Lake, Dayton, TN, Dayton Boat Dock ramp, October 9-11^th.

The 2008 TBF State meeting will be held November 1^st ^at the Guest House Inn located at 2420 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN, time TBD.
