Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Dale Hollow Lake Tourn. out of the Sunset Bridge Ramp. (Saturday, March 15, 6:30 a.m./Safe light - 2:30 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:45 a.m.

  1. Discussion of January’s winning lures and patterns. Center Hill Lake, 46-50*, clear-tinted water, Elev. 627.0-627.2’, Weather, 35* am, 40* pm, with 5-15 mph winds, Boat #4; 1st & 3rd, crank baits, Boat #7, 2nd & 13th, crank baits & finesse worms, Boat #11; 4th & 5th, drop shot & jigs in 40-60’ of water, big fish was caught on a black/blue jig.

            

  1. Discussion of February’s winning lures and patterns. Nickajack Lake, 48-50*, tinted-stained water, Elev. 633.5-634.0’, Weather, 50* am, 41* pm, with 5-10 mph winds, Boat #5; 1st & 11th, fire tiger & chart. spinner baits, Boat #10, 2nd & 10th, black/blue jigs, Boat #8; 3rd & 9th, 200 Bandit brown/chart. craw crank baits & black/blue jigs, big fish was caught on a spinner bait & a 6 lber. the Saturday before.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 17 members attended the February meeting. We had 26 people fish the Nickajack Lake Tournament, 3 guests attended.

 

  1. Nickajack Lake Results: 1st Joe Sheppard; 16.55 lbs., 2nd Randell Mahler; 15.20 lbs., 3rd Ricky England; 11.08 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Robert “Bob” Underwood; 5.08 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 56 fish with a total weight of 155.23 lbs.

 

  1. We are working with Laura Canada and the Cookeville Chamber of Commerce. We are discussing the possibility of their sponsorship of the 2009 Eastern Divisional State Tournament on Center Hill Lake.

 

  1. The club’s 1st fund raiser Bass Tournament will be held on the Caney Fork River, Good Friday, March 21st, 2008, 7am-3pm out of Cotton’s Marina ramp. Note: Five fish limit per boat.

 

  1. The club’s 2nd fund raiser will be a Co-ed Big Bass Tournament on Center Hill Lake, Saturday, April 12th, 2008, 7am-noon out of the Ragland Bottom ramp with a picnic social held in the pavilion after the weigh-in. Note: One fish limit per female and one fish limit per male per boat.

 

  1. The Free Fishing Day in Tennessee this year will be Saturday, June 7th. Our club members will assist with several events in our local area. Casting competition packaged kits have been ordered.

 

  1. The 2008 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Pickwick Lake, Pickwick Landing State Park, September 25-27th.

 

  1. The 2008 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Chickamauga Lake, Dayton, TN, Dayton Boat Dock ramp, October 9-11th.

 

  1. The 2008 TBF State meeting will be held November 1st at the Guest House Inn located at 2420 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN, time TBD.

  2. Just a reminder for everyone: You should have purchased your 2008 Fishing/Hunting license by now. The 2007 licenses expired on February 29, 2008. New licenses always go on sale during the 3rd week of February. TWRA’s 2008 Fishing Guides are available, please review 2008 changes.

 

2007 Registration Fees, Effective until 90 days after signature of the bill by the TN Secretary of State. TBD

Registration fees are determined by the length of the boat. The vessel may be registered for one, two or three years upon option by the owner. However, if an owner acquires another boat, there is no transfer of fees from one boat to another.
