Meeting Minutes

November 2, 2008

 

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Fort Loudoun Lake Tourn. out of the Canal ramp. (Saturday, November 15, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:30 a.m.

 

  1. We voted on officers, club bylaws, tournament rules and the tournament schedule, (i.e. waters, dates, times and ramps).

·       ·       We had eighteen voting members present for items listed above.

·       ·       Current officers were re-elected for 2009 season.

·       ·       No club bylaws were changed or added.

·       ·      Three changes to tournament rules were voted in.

1.    Night tournament 6:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.

2.    New members must put in the draw and fish with a Sparta Bass Club member their first six tournaments.

3.    Can use manufactured rods of 10 feet in length or less.

·       ·       The 2009 tournament schedule will be available on the web site and in print by the December meeting.

·       ·       Club dues must be received by the December meeting to keep your membership current and stay on the club rosters/FLW mailings.

·       ·       Sparta Bass Club dues will be $30.00 at this time. *

·       ·       * The State Bass Federation dues increased from $7.00 to $10.00 dollars annually.

·       ·       The club’s web site has not been sponsored for the 2009 season yet. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to maintain our web page and/or support our tournament teams.

 

  1. Discussion of October’s winning lures and patterns. Woods Reservoir, Weather; 50*, cloudy with light breeze, A.M., water 67-72*, clear at the dam to tinted up the lake, 60* sunny, blue skies, with 10+ wind in P.M., Boat #5; 1st & 24th, swimming a smoke grub or Texas rigged tube, Boat #3; 2nd & 21st, Junk fishing, caught fish on everything, rattle trap, spinner bait, plastics, buzz bait, shallow crank bait, etc., fished 1-7 feet deep, Boat #11; 3rd & 22nd, fishing a Texas rigged speed craw in the stand up grass patches, big fish (SMB) was caught by boat #5 on a smoke grub near deep water. 

 

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 16 members attended the August meeting. We had 28 people fish the Woods Reservoir Tournament, 5 guests attended.

 

  1. Woods Lake Results: 1st Jeff Stafford; 10.21 lbs., 2nd Dewayne Dotson; 8.06 lbs., 3rd Lee Currier; 6.14 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Jeff Stafford; 4.11 lbs. S.M.B. We caught 63 fish with a total weight of 86.83 lbs.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake, New Johnsonville Ramp, October 1-3rd.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Watts Bar Lake, Rockwood, TN, October 15-17th out of the Rockwood Park Ramp. This is in Roane County. More information will be forth coming.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF State meeting will be held November 7th at a time and location TBD.
