Meeting Minutes

April 16, 2009

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Dale Hollow Lake Tourn. out of the Sunset Bridge ramps. (Saturday, April 25, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 5:00 a.m.

4.  Discussion of March’s winning lures and patterns. Cordell Hull Lake, Weather;
     40-53*, heavy rain on the trip over, then cloudy, rain all day with 5-10 mph winds
     out of the S/SE/E, water 500.25-.45’, 47-48* on the main channel, 49-51* off main
     channel, clear/tinted on the main channel to tinted/colored off the main channel of
     the lake. Boat # 12; 1st & 17th, Texas rigging a brush hog in green/-------- /blue
     rattle trap in 3’ or less of colored water, Boat # 2; 2nd & 5th, Shallow Square
     Billed Lucky Craft Rick Clunn 1.5, ˝ oz. 2”, TN shad crank bait, in 3’ or less of
     water, Boat # 8; 3rd  & 9th, 1/2 oz. white/chartreuse spinner baits and a Strike King
     Red-Eyed Shad, ˝ in Sexy Shad color, 5-10’ deep, big fish (LMB) was caught by
     boat # 7 on a 5/8 oz. chartreuse spinner bait in 2-3’ of water. It was said that most
     fish were caught in the first hour, all before 11 A.M.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 20 members attended the March meeting, I missed this meeting & a second key was made and given to Ricky England along with the security code to avoid any future reoccurrence. We had 28 people fish the Cordell Hull Lake Tournament, 5 guests attended.

 

  1. Cordell Hull Lake Results: 1st Adam Hickey; 5/5, 10.90 lbs., 2nd Eddy Stewart; 5/5, 9.60 lbs., 2nd Donnie Harris; 5/5, 9.60 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Lee Currier; 5.5 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 101 fish with a total weight of 158.10 lbs.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake, New Johnsonville Ramp, October 1-3rd.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Watts Bar Lake, Rockwood, TN, October 15-17th out of the Rockwood Park Ramp. This is in Roane County. More information will be forth coming. A $500.00 deposit will be sent in to Arrowhead Resort on Watts Bar Lake to reserve 3 separate rooms to house 4 members each for Oct. 10-17th.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF State meeting will be held November 7th at a time and location TBD.

 

  1. Good Friday (April 10, 2009) Fund Raiser on Caney Fork River Results: 1st Eddy Stewart & Gerald Usrey; 5/5, 14.11 lbs., 2nd Ricky England & Bryce Whiteaker; 5/5, 9.91 lbs., 3rd Tim Prater & Brad Hawkins; 5/5, 8.69 lbs., & Big Fish 1st was caught by Eddy Stewart; 5.18 lbs. L.M.B and 2nd was caught by Tim Prater; 3.51 lbs. L.M.B. We had 13 boats with 26 entries & 9 teams caught 5-fish limits of fish for a total weight of 68.23 lbs and a 1.52 lb. /fish average, 4 teams caught fish, but did not weigh-in. All pictures and results can be seen on the club’s website.

 

  1. The Co-Ed/ Fun (Saturday May 2, 2009) Fund Raiser will be held on Cordell Hull Lake out of the Granville Marina Ramp. We will meet at the ramp at 6:30 A.M., and fishing hours will be from 7:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
