Meeting Minutes

December 10, 2009

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Center Hill Lake Tourn. out of the Ragland Bottom ramp. (Saturday, December 19, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will meet at the ramp parking lot at 6:30 a.m.

 

  1. We voted to make Ken Daniels an Honorary Sparta Bass Club member with all the rights and privileges. Ken will be presented with a new club jacket at the January meeting.

 

  1. We voted on a new club Treasurer, Tommy Mittlesteadt was nominated and voted into that office effective 1/01/2010. Eddy Stewart was thanked by everyone for his long service in this position with our club.

 

  1. The 2010 tournament schedule is now available on the web site and in print at this meeting. We are also going to have a signature page for all club members to show that they have read both revised versions of the club tournament rules and by-laws.

 

  1. Club dues must be received by the December meeting to keep your membership current and stay on the club rosters/FLW mailings. Sparta Bass Club dues will be $25.00 at this time and the FLW dues will be $35.00 for a total of $60.00 due. * Some members FLW dues will be pro-rated for the balance of the 2010 membership year.

 

  1. We will be purchasing 5 club shirts and 6 club jackets this year.

 

  1. The club’s web site has not been sponsored for the 2010 season yet. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to maintain our web page and/or support our tournament teams. Tim Morrison has taken on the responsibilities of updating and maintaining the club’s web site.

 

  1. Discussion of November’s winning lures and patterns. Caney Fork River, Weather; 40’s*, clear, cool & calm at 7 a.m., sunny, clear & 70* by 3 p.m. with light 3-5 mph southwest wind, water 790.50-791.30’, 54-56* and clear to good tint, Boat # 8; 1st, black/blue jig in 5-15’ of water, Boat # 15, 2nd, black/blue jig like 1st place, Boat # 6; 3rd  & 19th, chatter bait with lizard trailer fished like a jig, big fish 2.80 lbs.(LMB) was caught by boat # 10 on a spinner bait, fishing in 5-10’ of water.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 19 members attended the November meeting; we had 29 people fish the Caney Fork River Tournament, 8 guests attended.

 

  1. Caney Fork River Results: 1st Mitch Farley; 5/5, 7.60 lbs., 2nd Scott Grinner; 4/4, 5.21 lbs., 3rd Charlie Hawkins; 4/4, 4.73 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Ken Daniels; 2.80 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 40 fish with a total weight of 51.66 lbs.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake, September 30 - October 2nd out of the Ragland Bottom Area Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Old Hickory Lake, October 21-23rd out of the XXXXXXXX Area Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF State meeting will be November 6th with time & place TBD.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
