Meeting Minutes

June 18, 2009

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Center Hill Lake Tourn. out of the Ragland Bottom ramp. (Saturday, June 27, 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.) We will meet at the Ragland Bottom ramp at 5:30 p.m.

4.  Discussion of May’s winning lures and patterns. Cordell Hull Lake, Weather;
55-80*, heavy fog & calm winds early, burned off by 9:30 a.m. turned bright & sunny with 5-10 mph winds coming and going through out the day, water 504.07 , 65-72*
Boat # 11; 1st & 2nd, In grass on a craw in about 4’ of water, Boat # 13 3rd & 28th, Floating worm, Boat # 6; 3rd  & 5th, Brush hawg and lizard on wood, big fish 3.75 lbs.(LMB) was caught by boat # 11 on a craw in the grass.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 21 members attended the May meeting; we had 31 people fish the Cordell Hull Lake Tournament, 9 guests attended. We have averaged approximately twenty -five entries per club tournament over the past seven years. We have averaged approximately twenty-nine club members over the past nine years.

 

  1. Cordell Hull Lake Results: 1st Mike Hurst; 5/5, 9.62 lbs., 2nd Gerald Usrey; 5/5, 7.70 lbs., 3rd Charlie Hawkins; 5/5, 6.77 lbs., 3rd Connie Copeland; 5/5, 6.77 lbs.,& Big Fish caught by Mike Hurst; 3.75lbs. L.M.B. We caught 90 fish with a total weight of 109.67 lbs.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake, New Johnsonville Ramp, October 1-3rd.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Watts Bar Lake, Rockwood, TN, October 15-17th out of the Rockwood Park Ramp. This is in Roane County. More information will be forth coming. A $500.00 deposit will be sent in to Arrowhead Resort on Watts Bar Lake to reserve 3 separate rooms to house 4 members each for Oct. 10-17th.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF State meeting will be held November 7th at a time and location TBD.

 

  1. Good Friday (April 10, 2009) Fund Raiser on Caney Fork River Results: 1st Eddy Stewart & Gerald Usrey; 5/5, 14.11 lbs., 2nd Ricky England & Bryce Whiteaker; 5/5, 9.91 lbs., 3rd Tim Prater & Brad Hawkins; 5/5, 8.69 lbs., & Big Fish 1st was caught by Eddy Stewart; 5.18 lbs. L.M.B, 2nd was caught by Gerald Usrey; 4.82 lbs. L.M.B. and 3rd was caught by Tim Prater; 3.51 lbs. L.M.B. We had 13 boats with 26 entries; $130.00 was raised to be used for club expenses. Nine teams caught 5-fish limits of fish for a total weight of 68.23 lbs and a 1.52 lb. /fish average, 4 teams caught fish, but did not weigh-in.   1. The Co-Ed/Fun, Pro/Am (Saturday May 2, 2009) Fund Raiser that was to be held on Cordell Hull Lake out of the Granville Marina Ramp was rescheduled do to weather related issues, to (Saturday May 23, 2009). We will meet at the ramp at 6:30 A.M., and fishing hours will be from 7:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.

 

  1. The Free Fishing Day in Tennessee this year will be Saturday, June 6th. Our club members will assist with several events in our local area. Casting competition packaged kits have been ordered. We will need about 3-4 volunteers for Fall Creek Falls & Cane Creek Parks each.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
