Meeting Minutes

October 1, 2009

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Watts Bar Lake Tourn. out of the Caney Creek Area ramp. (Saturday, October 10, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:30 a.m and the parking area on Hwy 111 north of I-40 at 4:45 a.m.

 

  1. A vote was taken to determine which ramp location to use this month. The three ramps considered were Arrowhead Resort ($3.00 Fee), Caney Creek (No Fee) and Tom Fuller Park (No Fee). It was decided that we would use the Caney Creek ramp again this month.

  1. Discussion of September’s winning lures and patterns. Watts Bar Lake, Weather; 70’s, light to extremely heavy rain fall all day, water 740.20-740.50’, 75-78* and tinted, Boat # 12; 1st & 16th, Norman 16’ deep crank bait dragging across the bottom, Boat # 7, 2nd & 16th, Rebel Pop R top water bait, Boat # 9; 3rd  & 15th, chatter bait, big fish 4.65 lbs.(LMB) was caught by boat # 12 on a Norman 16’ crank bait, fishing in 10’ plus of water. More fish were caught on spinner baits and plastics, (watermelon/red and June bug).

  2. . Please include Sport Fish Comments on the subject line of emailed submissions.  The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission will vote on these regulations at their Oct. 29-30, 2009 meeting in Knoxville.

 

Cordell Hull: Largemouth Bass-17-23 inches Protected Length Range (PLR), 1 fish over 23 inches and 2 fish under 17 inches

Announcements:

 

  1. 17 members attended the September meeting; we had 26 people fish the Watts Bar Lake Tournament, 5 guests attended.

 

  1. Watts Bar Lake Results: 1st Scott Griner; 3/3, 9.62 lbs., 2nd Darren Walker; 4/4, 7.67 lbs., 3rd Bill Yancy; 3/3, 7.19 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Scott Griner; 4.65 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 28 fish with a total weight of 58.84 lbs.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake, New Johnsonville Ramp, October 1-3rd. Ricky England to be the Tournament Director & Dewayne Dotson to assist.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Watts Bar Lake, Rockwood, TN, October 15-17th out of the Rockwood Park Ramp. This is in Roane County. The Registration (1-3 p.m. eastern time) and Pairings (6 p.m. eastern time) meetings will be held at Roane State Community College, 276 Patton Ln., Harriman, TN 37748. A $500.00 deposit has been sent in to Arrowhead Resort, 261 Bennett Dr., Spring City, TN 37381 on Watts Bar Lake to reserve 3 separate rooms to house 4 members each for Oct. 10-17th, separate beds for each member are available.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF State meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express, 615 East Main St., Hendersonville, TN on November 7th at 8:30 a.m.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
