Meeting Minutes

September 17, 2009

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Watts Bar Lake Tourn. out of the Caney Creek Area ramp & the Kingston ramp will used if a back-up location is required. (Saturday, September 26, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:30 a.m and the parking area on Hwy 111 north of I-40 at 4:45 a.m.

 

  1. A vote was taken to move the ramp location from the Rockwood City Park because of the large field in the BFL tournament to either the Caney Creek ramp (No Fee) or the Arrowhead Resort Area ramp ($3.00 Fee). It was decided that we would use the Caney Creek ramp this month.

  1. Discussion of August’s winning lures and patterns. Cordell Hull Lake, Weather; 63*, foggy & calm at 6 a.m., 73*, clear & 3-6 mph winds at 10 a.m. and 75*, clear & NW winds of 5-10 mph by 2 p.m., water 503.89-504.05’, 65-70* in main channel & 75-80* in creeks, Boat # 17; 1st & 23rd, brushhog and jig in 5’ or less of water, Boat # 15, 2nd & 14th, green pumpkin speed vibe worm and 1-minus ghost minnow crank bait 5’ or less of water, Boat # 10; 3rd  & 8th, spinner baits, brushhog and worm 5’ or less of water, big fish 2.05 lbs.(LMB) was caught by boat # 3 on a spinner bait fishing in 3-5’ of water. Most fish caught in shallow water.

  2. . Please include Sport Fish Comments on the subject line of emailed submissions.  The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission will vote on these regulations at their Oct. 29-30, 2009 meeting in Knoxville.

 

Cordell Hull: Largemouth Bass-17-23 inches Protected Length Range (PLR), 1 fish over 23 inches and 2 fish under 17 inches

Announcements:

 

  1. 19 members attended the August meeting; we had 31 people fish the Cordell Hull Lake Tournament, 8 guests attended.

 

  1. Cordell Hull Lake Results: 1st Ricky England; 5/5, 6.00 lbs., 2nd Mike Hurst; 5/5, 5.32 lbs., 3rd Jeff Stafford; 5/5, 5.31 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Randall Mahler; 2.05 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 55 fish with a total weight of 60.06 lbs.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake, New Johnsonville Ramp, October 1-3rd. Ricky England to be the Tournament Director.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Watts Bar Lake, Rockwood, TN, October 15-17th out of the Rockwood Park Ramp. This is in Roane County. The Registration (1-3 p.m. eastern time) and Pairings (6 p.m. eastern time) meetings will be held at Roane State Community College, 276 Patton Ln., Harriman, TN 37748. A $500.00 deposit has been sent in to Arrowhead Resort, 261 Bennett Dr., Spring City, TN 37381 on Watts Bar Lake to reserve 3 separate rooms to house 4 members each for Oct. 10-17th, separate beds for each member are available.

 

  1. The 2009 TBF State meeting will be held November 7th at a time and location TBD.
