Meeting Minutes

April 1, 2010

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Chickamauga Lake Tourn. out of the Soddy Daisy ramp. (Saturday, April 10, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will meet and leave from the Sparta Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:30 a.m.

  1. Dewayne Dotson is starting up a Youth Bass Club associated with our Sparta Bass Club. Dues will be $5.00 per youth, ages 11-17. We will try to have three tournaments, one each during March, April and May this year. There was a meeting at the Sparta Sporting Goods on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Noon.

 

  1. Discussion of March’s winning lures and patterns. Nickajack Lake, Weather; 41*, light rain, cloudy & south wind at 7 a.m., 47*, mostly cloudy, rain heavy at times & winds SW at 8-10 mph at 11 a.m., 50*, partly sunny, light rain & winds west at 10-12 mph at 3 p.m. , water 633.78 to 634.07, 48.0-51.0* and tinted to colored, Boat # 13; 1st & 3rd , Lucky Craft Pointer jerk baits, 100sp in TN shad & Mega Bass jerk bait, purple back/silver sides with chart. throat in less than 10’ of water, Boat # 9, 2nd & 12th , XPS floating jerk bait, shad pattern & Lucky Craft Pointer                           in less than 5’ of water, Boat # 2; 4th & 16th , rattle trap & 300 bandit in less than 5‘ of water, big fish 6.13 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 13 on a Mega Bass jerk bait. A couple fish were also caught on a Lucky Craft 1.5 crank bait in TN shad fished on the bottom and only a few on a jig this time out.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 17 members attended the March meeting; we had 26 people fish the Nickajack Lake Tournament, 5 guests attended.

 

  1. Nickajack Results: 1st Larry Smith; 4/4, 16.50 lbs., 2nd Joe Shappard; 5/5, 15.90 lbs., 3rd David Harris; 4/4, 8.95 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Larry Smith; 6.13 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 30 fish with a total weight of 86.65 lbs.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake, September 30 - October 2nd out of the Ragland Bottom Area Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Old Hickory Lake, October 21-23rd out of the Saunders Ferry Park Ramp.

 

  1. The club first fund raiser will be April 2nd Good Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Center Hill Lake out of the Ragland Bottom day use area ramp. This will be a team event with a five-fish limit, paying three positions and big fish.

 

  1. The club second fund raiser will be May 1st Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Cordell Hull Lake out of the Granville Marina ramp. This will be an individual event with a one-fish limit, paying 1st place for the men and women fishing.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF State meeting will be November 6th with time & place TBD.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
