Meeting Minutes

February 18, 2010

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Cordell Hull Lake Tourn. out of the Granville ramp. (Saturday, February 27, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will meet and leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 5:00 a.m.

 

  1. The Sparta Bass Club Team is as follows:

Club jackets and/or shirts were purchased for the following club members.

 

  1. We are completing the signature page for all club members to show that they have read both revised versions of the club tournament rules and by-laws.

 

  1. Dewayne Dotson is starting up a Youth Bass Club associated with our Sparta Bass Club. Dues will be $5.00 per youth, ages 11-17. We will try to have three tournaments, one each during March, April and May this year.

 

  1. Club dues must be received by the December meeting to keep your membership current and stay on the club rosters/FLW mailings. Sparta Bass Club dues will be $25.00 at this time and the FLW dues will be $35.00 for a total of $60.00 due. * Some members FLW dues will be pro-rated for the balance of the 2010 membership year. The last membership dues for this year will be sent in March.

 

  1. The club’s web site will be sponsored for the 2010 season by Wayne Roberts and S & R Marine in Cookeville, TN. We appreciate his sponsorship of our web page this year. Tim Morrison has taken on the responsibilities of updating and maintaining the club’s web site.

 

  1. Discussion of January’s winning lures and patterns. Center Hill Lake, Weather; 46*, calm w/ localized heavy fog at 7 a.m., 55*, mostly sunny, winds south at 13 mph at 11 a.m., 57*, mostly sunny, winds south at 16 mph, gusting to 23 mph at 3 p.m. , water 629.27-629.62’, raised 6’ in 2-3 days, 42-50* and clear to colored w/ debris all around the lake, Boat # 2; 1st & 15th, large tandem spinner bait in less than 10’ of water, Boat # 6, 2nd & 12th , green jig & drop shot in 5 & 50’ of water, Boat # 11; 3rd & 15th , crank bait on point just under the surface, over deep water, big fish 4.04 lbs. (SMB) was caught by boat # 11 on a crank bait, see above.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 21 members attended the January meeting; we had 30 people fish the Center Hill Lake Tournament, 5 guests attended.

 

  1. Center Hill Results: 1st Tim Prater; 3/3, 7.71 lbs., 2nd Tommy Stiles; 3/3, 5.68 lbs., 3rd Scott Griner; 1/1, 4.04 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Scott Griner; 4.04 lbs. S.M.B. We caught 19 fish with a total weight of 37.94 lbs.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake, September 30 - October 2nd out of the Ragland Bottom Area Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Old Hickory Lake, October 21-23rd out of the Saunders Ferry Park Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Winter meeting will be February 26-27th in Murfreesboro, TN, Ricky England and Dewayne Dotson will attend on Friday night.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF State meeting will be November 6th with time & place TBD.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
