Meeting Minutes

March 4, 2010

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Nickajack Lake Tourn. out of the Shell Mound ramp. (Saturday, March 13, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will meet and leave from the Sparta Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:30 a.m. No one objected to the time change, so we voted to start and finish the tournament one hour later.

  1. We are completing the signature page for all club members to show that they have read both revised versions of the club tournament rules and by-laws.

 

  1. Dewayne Dotson is starting up a Youth Bass Club associated with our Sparta Bass Club. Dues will be $5.00 per youth, ages 11-17. We will try to have three tournaments, one each during March, April and May this year. There will be a meeting at the Sparta Sporting Goods on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Noon.

 

  1. Club dues must be received by the December meeting to keep your membership current and stay on the club rosters/FLW mailings. Sparta Bass Club dues will be $25.00 at this time and the FLW dues will be $35.00 for a total of $60.00 due. * Some members FLW dues will be pro-rated for the balance of the 2010 membership year. The last membership dues for this year will be sent in March.

 

  1. The club’s web site will be sponsored for the 2010 season by Wayne Roberts and S & R Marine in Cookeville, TN. We appreciate his sponsorship of our web page this year. Tim Morrison has taken on the responsibilities of updating and maintaining the club’s web site.

 

  1. Discussion of February’s winning lures and patterns. Cordell Hull Lake, Weather; 24*, calm & clear at 7 a.m., 36*, mostly sunny, winds NW at 8-10 mph at 11 a.m., 38*, mostly sunny, winds west at 10-12 mph, gusting to 20 mph at 3 p.m. , water 500.40 down to 500.08 at Noon, then back up to 500.44 by 3 p.m., 40.5-44.5* and tinted to colored, Boat # 15; 1st & 5th, SR5 & 7 shad rap & 300 bandit crank bait in less than 7’ of water, Boat # 10, 2nd & 3rd , shad rap, jerk bait and spinner bait, around grass in less than 6’ of water, Boat # 8; 4th & 8th , shaky head worm & jig, in less than 6‘ of water, big fish 3.90 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 15 on a crank bait, see above. A couple fish were also caught on a double willow leaf spinner bait fished very slowly.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 18 members attended the February meeting; we had 32 people fish the Cordell Hull Lake Tournament, 10 guests attended.

 

  1. Cordell Hull Results: 1st Joe Shappard; 4/4, 10.94 lbs., 2nd Hugh Dickerson; 5/5, 8.52 lbs., 3rd David Harris; 5/5, 5.79 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Joe Shappard; 3.90 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 25 fish with a total weight of 41.85 lbs.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake, September 30 - October 2nd out of the Ragland Bottom Area Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Old Hickory Lake, October 21-23rd out of the Saunders Ferry Park Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF State meeting will be November 6th with time & place TBD.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
