Meeting Minutes

May 6, 2010

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Caney Fork River Tourn. out of the Cotton’s Marina ramp. (Saturday, May 15, 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) We will meet at the ramp 5:30 a.m. Old Hickory Lake was closed to recreational boating for ten days. We voted on the time, ramp and river/lake to replace Old Hickory.

  1. Dewayne Dotson is starting up a Youth Bass Club associated with our Sparta Bass Club. Dues will be $5.00 per youth, ages 11-17. The first tournament will be during May. The state tournament will be in June on Kentucky Lake.

 

  1. Discussion of April’s winning lures and patterns. Chickamauga Lake, Weather; 42*, clear & calm at 7 a.m., 55*, partly cloudy & winds N-NE at 5 mph at 11 a.m., 67*, partly cloudy & winds variable at 5-10 at 3 p.m. , water 679.45 to 679.55, 64.5-69.5* and tinted, Boat # 13; 1st, spinner bait & texas rigged trick worm, in less than 5’ of water, Boat # 1, 2nd & 14th , all on a jig on main channel bluff banks in less than 10’ of water, Boat # 2; 3rd & 19th , quad shad spinner baits around single logs in less than 5‘ of water, Boat # 7; 4th & 5th , spro crank bait/sexy shad in less than 10‘ of water, big fish 5.45 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 7 on a Spro crank bait in sexy shad.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 20 members attended the April meeting; we had 25 people fish the Chickamauga Lake Tournament, 4 guests attended.

 

  1. Chickamauga Results: 1st Randell Mahler; 5/5, 11.22 lbs., 2nd Lee Currier; 3/3, 10.77 lbs., 3rd Steve Masters; 3/3, 8.91 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Robert Underwood; 5.45 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 42 fish with a total weight of 96.16 lbs.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake, September 30 - October 2nd out of the Ragland Bottom Area Ramp.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Old Hickory Lake, October 21-23rd out of the Saunders Ferry Park Ramp.

 

  1. The club first fund raiser was held April 2nd Good Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Center Hill Lake out of the Ragland Bottom day use area ramp. The results were; 1st Josh Farris & Todd Beaty; 5/5, 11.41 lbs., 2nd Brandon Trammel & Matt Stanley; 5/5, 11.31 lbs., 3rd Mike Hurst & Tim Brown; 5/5, 8.70 lbs., & Big Fish was caught by David Morgan & Mark Denning. We had 18 boats and 36 entries.

 

  1. The club second fund raiser was canceled on Saturday May 1st because of severe weather.

 

  1. The 2010 TBF State meeting will be November 6th with time & place TBD.

 

  1. Army Corp of Engineers; Center Hill Dam Seepage Reduction Website, please refer to the following for recent developments and updates. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/CenterHill/ We will post a link on our club site. A chart of ramp elevations was passed around at the meeting also.
