Meeting Minutes

November 4, 2010

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Tims Ford Lake Tourn. out of the Rock Creek Public ramp. (Saturday, November 13, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:45 a.m.

 

  1. . We voted on officers, club bylaws, and tournament rules. The tournament schedule, (i.e. waters, dates, times and ramps) will be determined at December meeting.

·        ·       We had 16 voting members present for items listed above.

·        ·       Current officers were re-elected for 2010 season; President-Kessler Yoder, Vice-President/Region 3 Director-Dewayne Dotson, New Secretary /Treasurer-Tommy Mittlesteadt & Tournament Committee, V.P. Dewayne D., Mike Hurst, Adam Hickey, Pictures by Joe Shappard & Charlie Hawkins.

·        ·      One club bylaws was changed.

·        ·      Five changes to tournament rules were voted in.

1.     T-Scheduling: There shall be no club sanctioned tournaments, where points are awarded, scheduled on the following holiday weekends; New Years Day, Good Friday/Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day,  Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

2.     T-Scheduling: Make all tournaments 8 hrs

3.     T-Penalties: At any Sparta Bass Club tournament, Largemouth, Small Mouth and Kentucky or Spotted Bass only may be weighed in.  Bass must be a minimum of 12 inches in length measured with the mouth closed.  To verify the length of a fish tails may be fanned or twisted and the fish may be checked on both sides.  All fish will be measured on the official “Golden Rule” board belonging to the club.  State law overrides club length limits and creel limits and State rules will be used to determine species and classification. In the event of a paper tournament, the length, species and classification of a fish must be verified by the member’s partner. Measuring rules are to be approved by the Tournament Committee.

4.     T-Tackle: "No trolling (by any means) is allowed during tournaments".

5.     T-Sportsmanship: "No fishing is allowed within 50 yards of another competitor's anchored boat. (i.e. anchored, tied off, attached, etc. with trolling motor stowed) ".

6.     C-Membership: Remove the statement "in good standing" everywhere it is used.

·        ·       The 2011 tournament schedule will be available on the web site and in print by the18th of December.

·        ·       Club dues must be received by the December meeting to keep your membership current and stay on the club rosters/FLW mailings.

·        ·       Sparta Bass Club dues will be $25.00 at this time and the FLW dues will be $35.00 for a total of $60.00 due.

 

  1.  The club’s web site has not been sponsored for the 2011 season yet. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to maintain our web page and/or support our tournament teams.

 

  1. Discussion of October’s winning lures and patterns. Woods Reservoir, Weather; 36*, fog/mist & calm at 7 a.m., 65*, clear & calm at 11 a.m., 74*, clear & calm at 3 p.m., water normal, 68.0-72.0* and clear to tinted, Boat # 4; 1st & 6th , buzzbait, pop-r & a spinner bait, 1’-5’ of water, Boat # 5, 2nd , black/blue jig fishing in and around the stand up scattered grass patches 3-5’ of water, Boat # 11 3rd & 12th , texas rigged tube in watermelon in the deeper patches of stand up grass 3-5‘ of water, big fish 3.39 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 11 on a tube in the stand up grass.

  1. 18 members attended the October meeting; we had 27 people fish the Woods Reservoir Tournament, 7 guests attended

 

  1. Woods Reservoir Results: 1st David Harris; 5/5, 10.34 lbs., 2nd Tommy Mittlesteadt; 5/5, 9.85 lbs., 3rd Mike Hurst; 4/4, 7.82 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Mike Hurst; 3.39 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 63 fish with a total weight of 83.32 lbs.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament, TBD.

  1. The 2010 TBF State meeting will be held Saturday November 6th, 2010 in Cookeville, TN at the Clarion Hotel on South Jefferson from 8:30 a.m. to ~1 p.m.
