Meeting Minutes

April 21, 2011

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Dale Hollow Lake Tourn. out of the Sunset Day Use ramp. (Saturday, April 30, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 5:00 a.m.

 

  1. The Sparta Bass Club Team is as follows:

  1. The club’s sponsorship drive for the 2011 season is continuing. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to support our club. Travis McBride with Center Hill Marine and Wayne Roberts with S & R Marine have pledged $100.00 for 2011 so far. Several other businesses are being solicited for support. The new web page has been launched and all club sponsors will have links posted to their web sites if available.

 

  1. Discussion of March’s winning lures and patterns. Nickajack Lake, Weather; 46*, thunderstorms & N winds 10 mph at 7 a.m., 46*, cloudy, rain & S winds 5 mph at 11 a.m., 48*, overcast, light rain & NE winds 3 mph at 3 p.m., water 633.26-634.27, 55.0-58.0* and tinted to colored, Boat # 12; 1st , Rapala DT-4, white w/chartreuse side & a green pumpkin speed craw, in less than 3-5’ of water, Boat # 18, 2nd & 13th , a green spinner bait with colored/painted blades, in less than 3’ of water, Boat # 5, 3rd & 27th , green colored rattle bait, in less than 3’ of water, Boat # 15, 4th & 7th , jerk bait. In less than 5’ of water, Boat # 14, 5th & 27th, jig, jerk bait & spinner bait in less than 3’ of water, and big fish 6.67 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 12 on a Rapala DT-4 crank bait off of the rip-rap shallow.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 23 members attended the February meeting; we had 39 people fish the Nickajack Lake Tournament, with 11 being guests.

 

  1. Nickajack Lake Results: 1st Tim Dyer; 5/5, 18.98 lbs., 2nd Mitch Farley; 5/5, 17.37 lbs., 3rd Eddy Stewart; 4/4, 12.71 lbs., 4th David Harris; 3/3, 10.82 lbs., 5th Jeff Stafford; 5/5, 10.37 lbs. & Big Fish caught by Tim Dyer; 6.67 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 69 fish with a total weight of 194.60 lbs.

 

  1. The 2011 TN State High School Championship Tournament was held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on April 8-9, 2011. Jordon Jellinick & David Daniel from WCHS placed 15th with 2/2, 2 lb. 13 ozs. and Victoria Cass & Serena Ingram from CHS placed 17th with 1/1, 2 lb. 2 ozs.

 

  1. The 1st Annual Bill Yancy Memorial Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake out of the Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on Good Friday; April 22nd, 2011 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

 

  1. The club’s Co-Ed Big Bass Tournament will be held on Cordell Hull Lake out of the Granville Marina Ramp on Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 7 a.m. until Noon.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Southern Divisional Tournament will be held on Green River Lake in Kentucky from May 29 to June 4, 2011. Mitch Farley and Ricky England will be boaters on this year’s TN State Team.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Youth State Tournament will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on June 3-4, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 Relay for Life Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on June 11, 2011

 

  1. This year’s TN Free Fishing Day is scheduled for Saturday June 11, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 CATCH Youth Event will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on September 17, 2011

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake out of Paris Landing State Park on September 29-October 1, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament, will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on October 13-15, 2011. I will reserve 6 rooms for the 13th & 14th at the Holiday Inn Express in Dayton, TN as
    a backup to any arrangements that everyone may find before the tournament.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Fall State meeting will be held Saturday November 5th, 2011 at a location TBD.
