The club’s sponsorship drive for the 2011 season is continuing. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to support our club. Travis McBride with Center Hill Marine and Wayne Roberts with S & R Marine have donated $100.00 for 2011 so far. We will also be soliciting ERGX Graphics in Sparta for support. The new web page has been launched and all club sponsors will have links posted to their web sites.

Discussion of May’s winning lures and patterns. Cordell Hull Lake, Weather; 60*, fog/misting rain & calm S winds 3 mph at 6 a.m., 59*, heavy rain/fog & W winds 10-18 mph at 10 a.m., 68*, partly cloudy & W winds 9-18 mph at 2 p.m., water 503.49-503.56, 62.0-68.0* & colored to tinted, Boat # 5; 1^st & 8^th , 6” watermelon seed lizard & buzz bait, in less than 1-6’ of water around rock, Boat # 8, 2^nd& 13^th , spinner bait on the main channel, 57* around current, boat in 10’ of water, Boat # 13, 3^rd & 10^th , brushhog, spitting image top water and junk fishing, in less than 1-3’ of water around wood, and big fish 2.78 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 1 on a black/blue jig.

Dewayne Dotson suggested that we change the scheduled July tournament time from 7:00am – 3:00 pm c.s.t. to something different due to the expected heavy recreational boat traffic during these same times. The idea was tabled and will be brought up for further discussion and vote at our July meeting.

16 members attended the June meeting; we had 27 people fish the Cordell Hull Lake Tournament, with 3 being guests.

Cordell Hull Lake Results: 1^st Scott Griner; 3/3, 6.22 lbs., 2^nd Tim Matheney; 2/2, 5.78 lbs., 3^rd Brandon Simms; 2/2, 5.55 lbs. & Big Fish caught by Tommy Mittlesteadt; 2.78 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 51 fish with a total weight of 103.58 lbs.

The 1^st Annual Bill Yancy Memorial Tournament was held on Center Hill Lake out of the Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on Good Friday; April 22^nd, 2011 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. We had 35 boats and 62 entries, the results were as follows; 1^st Erwin Tucker & Bill Bell; 5/5, 16.56 lbs., 2^nd Buyrl Shirley & Adam Wagner; 5/5, 12.98 lbs., 3^rd Charles Yancy & Mitchell Lawson; 5/5, 12.93 lbs., 4^th Mitch Farley & Gary Gore; 5/5, 12.89 lbs., 5^th Weston & Jako; 5/5, 12.36 lbs., 6^th Ricky England & Greg Shoup; 5/5, 11.30 lbs., 7^th Steve Masters & Charlie Hawkins; 5/5, 11.22 lbs. & Big Fish was caught by Greg Shoup; 5.47 lbs

The club’s Co-Ed Big Bass Tournament was held on Cordell Hull Lake out of the Granville Marina Ramp on Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 7 a.m. until Noon. We had lunch at the Granville Marina Restaurant after the weigh-in was complete. The results were as follows: Women’s, 1^st Mary Clark; 1.98 lbs., 2^nd Lisa Yoder; 1.59 lbs., 3^rd Hannah Matheney & Tammy Gongaware; 1.50 lbs., 5^th Sherry Stafford; 1.24 lbs., 6^th Tamara England; 1.20 lbs. & 7^th Sharon Underwood; 1.15 lbs. and Men’s, 1^st Kessler Yoder; 2.42 lbs., 2^nd Tim Matheney; 1.88 lbs., 3^rd Joe Shappard; 1.74 lbs., 4^th Robert Underwood; 1.73 lbs., 5^th Sam Clark; 1.47 lbs., 6^th Jeff Stafford; 1.42 lbs., 7^th Darren Gongaware; 1.27 lbs.& 8^th Ricky England; 1.09 lbs. We had 8 boats, 8 actual paid entries & 2 donations; $100.00 was raised to be used for club expenses. We would like to thank everyone who fished with us and everyone involved for their assistance/support before and after the tournament.

The 2011 TBF Southern Divisional Tournament was held on Green River Lake in Kentucky from May 29 to June 4, 2011. Mitch Farley and Ricky England were boaters on this year’s TN State Team. The Tennessee team placed 4^th out of 7 total teams, while Ricky placed 36^th out of 80 anglers, and Mitch placed 41^st. The 2011 TBF Youth State Tournament was held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on June 3-4, 2011. Our Sparta Jr. Bass Club members placed as follows: In the 15-18 age group, Serena Ingram placed 9^th, Victoria Cass placed 13^th, and Jordan Jellinick tied for 13^th, out of 16 anglers. In the 11-14 age group, Hunter Mason placed 3^rd and Grayson Birdwell placed 10^th out of 12 anglers. Full results can be found at www.tnbass.com/trail/tourney.php?tid=867&type=A.

The 2011 Relay for Life Tournament was held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on June 11, 2011

The 2011 CATCH Youth Event will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on September 17, 2011

The 2011 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake out of Paris Landing State Park on September 29-October 1, 2011.

The 2011 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament, will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on October 13-15, 2011. I will reserve 6 rooms for the 13^th & 14^th at the Holiday Inn Express in Dayton, TN as
a backup to any arrangements that everyone may find before the tournament.

The 2011 TBF Fall State meeting will be held Saturday November 5^th, 2011 at a location TBD.
