Meeting Minutes

March 17, 2011

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Nickajack Lake Tourn. out of the Shellmound Day Use ramp. (Saturday, March 26, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:45 a.m.

 

  1. The Sparta Bass Club Team is as follows:

  1. The club’s sponsorship drive for the 2011 season is continuing. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to support our club. Travis McBride with Center Hill Marine and Wayne Roberts with S & R Marine have pledged $100.00 for 2011 so far. Several other businesses are being solicited for support. The new web page has been launched and all club sponsors will have links posted to their web sites if available.

 

  1. Discussion of February’s winning lures and patterns. Cordell Hull Lake, Weather; 39*, light fog/mist & NE winds 7mph at 7 a.m., 47*, overcast & E winds 7mph at 11 a.m., 55*, overcast & E winds 7mph at 3 p.m., water 500.43-.51, 42.0-50.0* and clear to tinted, Boat # 1; 1st & 13th , Bill Norman Mad N crankbait, in less than 3’ of water, Boat # 16, 2nd & 13th , Shad Rap crankbait, in less than 3’ of water, Boat # 6, 2nd & 11th , Texas rigged green craw, in less than 5’ of water, Boat # 8, 4th, shad colored Smithwick jerkbait. In less than 3’ of water, Boat # 4, 5th & 13th, Shad Rap & 4” dead ringer worm, in less than 3’ of water, big fish 3.39 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 1 on a Norman Mad N, shallow.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 22 members attended the February meeting; we had 33 people fish the Cordell Hull Lake Tournament, with 7 being guests.

 

  1. Cordell Hull Lake Results: 1st Ricky England; 2/2, 2.89 lbs., Tied for 2nd Charlie Hawkins & Hugh Dickerson; 2/2, 2.55 lbs., 4th Mike Hurst; 2/2, 2.45 lbs., 5th Tim Dyer; 2/2, 2.22 lbs., & Big Fish caught by Ricky England; 1.72 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 17 fish with a total weight of 21.98 lbs.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Spring State meeting was held Saturday February 26th, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson, TN. Ricky England and Dewayne Dotson attended for our clubs.

 

  1. The 2011 TN State High School Championship Tournament will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on April 8-9, 2011

 

  1. The 1st Annual Bill Yancy Memorial Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake out of the Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on Good Friday; April 22nd, 2011 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

 

  1. The club’s Co-Ed Big Bass Tournament will be held on Cordell Hull Lake out of the Granville Marina Ramp on Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 7 a.m. until Noon.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Southern Divisional Tournament will be held on Green River Lake in Kentucky from May 29 to June 4, 2011. Mitch Farley and Ricky England will be boaters on this year’s TN State Team.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Youth State Tournament will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on June 3-4, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 Relay for Life Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on June 11, 2011

 

  1. This year’s TN Free Fishing Day is scheduled for Saturday June 11, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 CATCH Youth Event will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on September 17, 2011

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake out of Paris Landing State Park on September 29-October 1, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament, will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on October 13-15, 2011. I will reserve 6 rooms for the 13th & 14th at the Holiday Inn Express in Dayton, TN as
    a backup to any arrangements that everyone may find before the tournament.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Fall State meeting will be held Saturday November 5th, 2011 at a location TBD.
