Meeting Minutes

May 5, 2011

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Cordell Hull Lake Tourn. out of the Granville Marina ramp. (Saturday, May 14, 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) We will leave from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:15 a.m.

 

  1. The Sparta Bass Club Team is as follows:

  1. The club’s sponsorship drive for the 2011 season is continuing. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to support our club. Travis McBride with Center Hill Marine and Wayne Roberts with S & R Marine have donated $100.00 for 2011 so far. We will also be soliciting ERGX Graphics in Sparta for support. The new web page has been launched and all club sponsors will have links posted to their web sites.

 

  1. Discussion of April’s winning lures and patterns. Dale Hollow Lake, Weather; 51*, clear & calm winds at 7 a.m., 68*, clear & S winds 10-18 mph at 11 a.m., 78*, clear & S winds 10 mph at 3 p.m., water 658.21-658.28, 60.0-65.0* & muddy up stream and 64.0-70.0 & tinted to colored down, Boat # 14; 1st & 3rd , dark colored brush hog, in less than 1-2’ of water, Boat # 7, 2nd & 19th , white spinner bait around cedar trees, in less than 10’ of water, Boat # 2, 4th & 17th , finesse worm, in less than 1-3’ of water, Boat # 15, 5th & 6th , brush hog, in less than 1-3’ of water, and big fish 2.24 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 14 on a brush hog.

 

Announcements:

 

  1. 19 members attended the May meeting; we had 32 people fish the Dale Hollow Lake Tournament, with 6 being guests.

 

  1. Dale Hollow Lake Results: 1st David Harris; 3/3, 5.44 lbs., 2nd Tim Matheney; 3/3, 3.47 lbs., 3rd Scott Griner; 2/2, 3.37 lbs., 4th Kenneth Young; 4/3, 3.33 lbs., 5th Brandon Simms; 3/3, 3.32 lbs. & Big Fish caught by David Harris; 2.24 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 31 fish with a total weight of 36.62 lbs.

 

  1. The 2011 TN State High School Championship Tournament was held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on April 8-9, 2011. Jordon Jellinick & David Daniel from WCHS placed 15th with 2/2, 2 lb. 13 ozs. and Victoria Cass & Serena Ingram from CHS placed 17th with 1/1, 2 lb. 2 ozs.

 

  1. The 1st Annual Bill Yancy Memorial Tournament was held on Center Hill Lake out of the Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on Good Friday; April 22nd, 2011 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. We had 35 boats and 62 entries, the results were as follows; 1st Erwin Tucker & Bill Bell; 5/5, 16.56 lbs., 2nd Buyrl Shirley & Adam Wagner; 5/5, 12.98 lbs., 3rd Charles Yancy & Mitchell Lawson; 5/5, 12.93 lbs., 4th Mitch Farley & Gary Gore; 5/5, 12.89 lbs., 5th Weston & Jako; 5/5, 12.36 lbs., 6th Ricky England & Greg Shoup; 5/5, 11.30 lbs., 7th Steve Masters & Charlie Hawkins; 5/5, 11.22 lbs. & Big Fish was caught by Greg Shoup; 5.47 lbs

 

  1. The club’s Co-Ed Big Bass Tournament will be held on Cordell Hull Lake out of the Granville Marina Ramp on Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 7 a.m. until Noon.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Southern Divisional Tournament will be held on Green River Lake in Kentucky from May 29 to June 4, 2011. Mitch Farley and Ricky England will be boaters on this year’s TN State Team.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Youth State Tournament will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on June 3-4, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 Relay for Life Tournament will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on June 11, 2011

 

  1. This year’s TN Free Fishing Day is scheduled for Saturday June 11, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 CATCH Youth Event will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on September 17, 2011

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament will be held on Kentucky Lake out of Paris Landing State Park on September 29-October 1, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament, will be held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on October 13-15, 2011. I will reserve 6 rooms for the 13th & 14th at the Holiday Inn Express in Dayton, TN as
    a backup to any arrangements that everyone may find before the tournament.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Fall State meeting will be held Saturday November 5th, 2011 at a location TBD.
