Meeting Minutes

November 3, 2011

 

Issues to Cover:

 

  1. Tournament Pairings and Blast-off order for the Dale Hollow Lake Tourn. out of the Sunset Bridge ramp. (Saturday, November 12, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) We will meet at the ramp parking lot at 6:30 a.m.

 

  1. Discussion of October’s winning lures and patterns. Chickamauga Lake, Weather; 50* shallow fog & calm 7 a.m., 71*, fair and calm at 11 a.m., 77*, partly cloudy and winds E at 5 mph. at 3 p.m., water 680.38-.56, 68*-74* tinted to colored, Boat # 11; 1st & 5th , gold colored red-eye shad baits fishing 3-4’ of water, Boat # 10, 2nd & 9th , chartreuse/purple rattle trap in 1-4’ of water, Boat # 6, 3rd & 16th , All American colored rattle trap in <4’ of water, and big fish 3.34 lbs. (LMB) was caught by boat # 7 on a white spinner bait in 1-4’ of water around docks.

 

  1. The club is looking for sponsors for the 2012 season. We would appreciate financial assistance from any organization or group to help support our club activities and tournament teams. Sponsor logos placed on our club’s home page will be linked to the sponsor’s web site.

 

  1. . We voted on officers, club bylaws, and tournament rules. The tournament schedule, (i.e. waters, dates, times and ramps) will be determined at December meeting.

·         ·       We had 15 voting members present for items listed above.

·         ·       The following officers were elected for 2012 season; President-Dewayne Dotson, Vice-President-Jeff Stafford, Secretary /Treasurer-Tommy Mittlesteadt. Also the Web Page-Tim Morrison & pictures by Charlie Hawkins & Kessler Yoder. The Tournament Committee will be elected in January.

·         ·      One club bylaws was changed.

1.    Tournament Committee: Elect four members in addition to the V.P. (tournament director). The purpose of the tournament committee shall be to organize and operate all Chapter tournaments. The committee will, weigh and measure the fish, enforce all tournament rules and investigate all protests concerning tournaments and make necessary recommendations to the Chapter.

·         ·      Four changes to tournament rules were voted in.

1.    Remove statement: 25 points will be given to each member participating in extracurricular activities (i.e. casting kids), events will be predetermined by the President and/or members

2.    Add: A club member will receive 10 points if they catch the Big Bass during our monthly club tournaments, no points awarded if caught by a guest.

3.    Remove statement: The points champion will also will be allowed to pick, within reason, the month, lake, and ramp of his choice for one tournament when setting the next season’s schedule. Add: And a monetary award of 10% ($1.00) of the club money collected at the monthly tournaments.

4.    Add: Each angler must bring their fish to the scales in a separate bag.

·         ·       The 2012 tournament schedule will be available on the web site and in print by the17th of December.

·         ·       Club dues must be received by the December meeting to keep your membership current and stay on the club rosters/FLW mailings.

·         ·       Sparta Bass Club dues will be $25.00 at this time and the FLW dues will be $35.00 for a total of $60.00 due.

Announcements:

 

  1. 16 members attended the October meeting; we had 23 people fish the Chickamauga Lake Tournament, with 3 being guests.

 

  1. Chickamauga Lake Results: 1st Mitch Lawson; 3/3, 5.99 lbs., 2nd Scott Griner; 3/3, 4.62 lbs., 3rd Kessler Yoder; 2/2, 4.34 lbs. & Big Fish caught by Charlie Hawkins; 3.34 lbs. L.M.B. We caught 25 fish with a total weight of 46.30 lbs.

 

  1. The 2012 CATCH Youth Event will be held on Center Hill Lake out of Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on September 15, 2012.

 

  1. The 2012 TBF Western Divisional State Tournament TBD.

 

  1. The 2012 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament TBD

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Eastern Divisional State Tournament, was held on Chickamauga Lake out of the Dayton Boat Dock on October 13-15, 2011.

 

  1. The 2011 TBF Fall State meeting will be held Saturday November 5th, 2011 at a location TBD.
